Mitrula paludosa

Habitat:-          Out of very wet oak leaf debris

Location:-         Abergeirw Mawr

Scale:-            Approx life size

Description:-      Several hundred with fruit bodies ranging from 2mm round

                   to 25 x 10 oval

                   All the stipes were at least partially under water.

                   These occur at the same site (two locations) every year.

Mitrula paludosa

These are really common here this year. They are also larger than

usual with some specimens with 20mm + diameter.

These were a few of many hundreds in a ditch excavated the previous 

fall. All the specimens I have seen in Snowdonia have been associated with

rotting oak leaves in slowly moving water.
